Ready to be spoiled? How about Breakfast in bed!

Before retiring to Old Bisbee,  Sandra owned a successful B&B in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and for 26 years, the inn’s elf delivered her spectacular gourmet breakfasts to all the guests’ doors.  There were over 500  rave reviews  about these epicurean delights on Trip Advisor before she sold the inn in 2018.

Before her first Eureka Springs season was over , news of her breakfasts had spread far and wide and Sandra was invited to be the featured chef on the CBS cooking show sponsored by Arkansas Western Gas. Many articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines about these wonderful breakfasts she creates.

Not just boring bacon-and-eggs, all breakfasts are created from Sandra’s very own recipes which she has made up from years of culinary experiences while traveling all over the world. All recipes are included in her 280-page cookbook-memoir, “A Cook’s Tour of Epicuria…One Woman’s Adventures.”

On any morning, you can expect a savory breakfast with spices and fresh herbs from her garden. Sandra learned to appreciate Southern Hemisphere flavors while sailing her boat in the Sea of Cortez and down the Mexican and Central American coasts.  The savory selection might be a recipe she calls, “Mexico After Dark…when you wander around Mexico at night, you run into all kinds of strange things but they are always very interesting and pleasing”. On the side might be a fresh-from-Carl’s-garden tomato filled with Sandra’s homemade salsa, topped with avocado and sour cream, and next to it, Carl’s  freshly baked corn madeleine with jalapenos from the Bisbee Farmer’s Market.

Another morning, it might be a sweet breakfast like the exquisitely light lemon-orange (or cheese) souffles she learned to bake on an 18th century wood-burning stove while living in the south of France. It might be accompanied by an applewood-smoked pork chop in a Champagne reduction with a black cherry balsamic glaze and creamed and cheesed mini-potatoes from Peru.

Now, Sandra and Carl are happy to offer guests of their Bisbee Casita Chiquita an opportunity to enjoy these award-winning breakfasts as an “optional extra” add-on, when available.  A “Breakfast For Two” needs to be ordered at least 48 hours in advance and we can add the order to the guest’s airbnb.com reservation. Sorry, no cancellations once ordered and both guest breakfasts must be the same each morning. Breakfasts can be ordered for one or more mornings when available.

Whatever the elf delivers to your door, you can be certain you are about to be immersed in an incredible eating experience!

Celebrate your special day in a special way!

The “Mules” beckon you to follow a path up to the “B”

There are lots of lovely trails and paths for all levels of hikers or walkers. If you’re interested, let the hosts know ahead when you book and they will have a map ready to share with you showing all these wonderful “escapes from reality” to take in Mother Nature’s blissful bounty. This photo of the “B” (for Bisbee Mountain) was taken from the Bisbee Casita Chiquita driveway. You can see the “B” lit up at night when you are sitting in the garden or gazebo.

Less than a 20-min. drive….sunsets are amazing

Your hosts will share with you their favorite place to go to take in the Sonora High Desert sunsets we here in Bisbee are so famous for. You’ll have to hop in your car, but it’s less than 20 minutes away from your Casita Chiquita! You might even want to pack a picnic (or pick something up at the market/cafe right below the Casita) and a bottle of vino or iced tea to take along to enjoy.  This is a beautiful spot where you can go to forget everything you left back home or at the office…and take in a new reality to rejuvenate and refresh.
